Member / Student Guide

Use this when your account role says member. This covers profile, friends, chat, DMs, calls, screen share, files, Google Workspace, dark mode, and phone setup.

First Login

  1. Read Dashboard announcements.
  2. Press Show guide if you dismissed the in-app guide.
  3. Open Profile and set display name, profile picture, grade, email, phone, bio, status, and theme.
  4. Save Profile before using Friends so grade search can find your classmates.
  5. On phone, use the three-line menu to open the sidebar.

Add Friends

  1. Open Friends.
  2. Choose your grade in the grade dropdown.
  3. Press Search grade, or just change the grade dropdown after v213.
  4. Pick a person from the results.
  5. Press Add friend.
  6. The other person opens Friends and presses Accept.
  7. To add someone outside your grade, type their exact username and then send the request.

DMs and Groups

  1. Open Direct messages.
  2. Choose an accepted friend from Chat.
  3. Write a message and press Send.
  4. Use the + button for Attach file, Photo, Chat appearance, Secret message, Create group DM, and Share link/doc.
  5. Create group DMs with accepted friends only.

Calls and Screen Share

  1. Open Direct messages and choose a friend or group.
  2. Press Call for audio or Video for camera.
  3. The other person presses Answer from the live call panel.
  4. Press Share screen to share your display when the browser supports it.
  5. Camera, microphone, and screen share require HTTPS or localhost.
  6. iPhone Safari may not support screen sharing; use desktop Chrome/Edge for reliable screen share.
  7. Different Wi-Fi/mobile networks may need TURN relay settings from the admin.

Files

  • Public uploads are visible in the file list.
  • Private uploads are visible to you and admins.
  • Use clear filenames so people know what they are opening.

Google Workspace

  • Use the one Google Workspace tab for Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
  • Use Docs for documents.
  • Use Slides for presentations.
  • Use Sheets for spreadsheets.
  • If Google blocks sign-in in the frame, open full tab once and return to Inner.

Dark Mode and Phone

  • Open Profile and choose Dark, Midnight, Slate, Glass, or Custom.
  • The theme applies across the app, including forms and menus.
  • After logging out on phone, the sign-in screen should stay scrollable and readable.
  • If the home-screen app shows an old layout, close it fully and reopen after the admin deploys the new version.
